CFES National Presenter Certification

The CFES Presenter’s role is to facilitate and teach CFES public and professional workshops and collaborate or contract with CFES in developing and presenting new workshops.  At times the presenter will approach CFES with a pre-established session or workshop to be CFES recognized for recertification credits and CFES distribution.  The Presenter will be welcome to join the CFES Speaker Bureau.

The individuals that could qualify to be certified by CFES to be a Presenter may include:
❑ Experienced certified instructor and or personal trainer
❑ Physical education teacher;
❑ College professor in related field;
❑ University student in related field;
❑ University professor in related field;
❑ Health and Wellness Teachers, Professors and Managers in related field;
❑ Fitness Program Director;
❑ Experienced Fitness Club Manager

CFES National Presenter Certification Requirement Steps:
Successfully complete (80% +) of the following or present an equivalent*
1. Pre-requisites:
     a. Currently CFES certified in leadership designations in which you would like to present*
     b. Minimum two years fitness leadership experience as an instructor, personal trainer, or supervisor*
2. Meet with CFES Certification Director (phone/skype/in person):
     a. Discuss professional goals, presentation ideas, any additional skills needed, and how you would like to work with CFES
3. Pass a CFES Presenter Workshop * (resource and course fee);
4. Organize presentation:
     a. Arrange for a CFES Educator to watch your presentation (live or video)
         to critique presentation performance*.
     b. Submit a means to "test" students on what they learned or skills they attained from the workshop. Example: mini quiz and
         instructional skills assessment tools.
     c. Receive excellent reviews from CFES Educator and all participants.
     d. Receive a Presenter Evaluation pass or redo.
5. Maintain CPR-A (minimum):
     a. Emergency First Aid or Standard First Aid and required annual liability insurance
6. Submit to CFES:
     a. Presenter Application Form
     b. Instructional Video with program agenda and content handout. Video will be thirty minutes and
         demonstrates presenter abilities. Video review and feedback; Review fee
     c. Resume and two reference letters attesting to your professional presenter skills and effectiveness

     d. All document copies one-five above

     e. Signed Code of Professional Honour

     f. CFES program evaluation and certification membership fee
7. Receive CFES Presenter Certification (electronic or paper copy).
 
CFES National Presenter Re-certification Requirement Steps:
Successfully complete (80% +) of the following or present an equivalent*
1. Maintain a minimum of six (6) verified Instructional hours per leadership designation*;
2. Teach one (1) CFES recognized re-certification workshop or seminar per year: Minimal 4 hours +;
provide mini quiz and SA depending on content and skills learned in workshop or seminar*;
3. Attend eight (8) hours of CFES recognized professional development courses (in class or online)*;
Attend required CFES four hours/year workshop (in class/online)*;
Maintain good to excellent on participant evaluations to retain CFES Presenter Certification;
4. Have annual review with CFES Certification Director, provide feedback, new ideas, goals for
advancement;
5. Be visible on CFES website presenter section and apply to be a part of CFES Speaker Agency.
Required: professional bio summary and a paragraph on why you are working with CFES; Optional:
head and shoulders photo** and/or videos**; Suggestion: testimonials from students**;
written or video** submissions of your workshops or seminars;
6. Maintain CPR-A (minimum); Emergency First Aid or Standard First Aid and required annual liability
insurance;
7. Submit to CFES: Application form; all document copies one-six above; sign Code of
Professional Honour; program evaluation and re-certification membership fee;
8. Receive CFES Presenter Re-certification (electronic or paper copy).
 
* CFES recognizes BCRPA; AFLCA; SPRA; MFC; OFC; FNB; NSFA; IFC; YMCA, CALA equivalency and
will consider other agencies qualifications as equal to CFES requirements. Please discuss with CFES
office.
** Important: Both students and presenters need to sign a CFES Model Release Form providing CFES permission to present written testimonies, photos and videos on the CFES website, print promotions and in our publications. Model release forms are found on the CFES wesite.
