CFES National Skills Assessment Evaluator (SAE) & Leadership Mentor (LM) Certification Requirements

The CFES SAE and LM certification is available for Instructor, Personal Trainer and Educator. The Leadership Mentor will professionally facilitate an apprentice leader into confident independence and be qualified to deliver the CFES National Skills Assessment. 

Candidate is to successfully complete (80%+) on the following program steps or present an equivalent*:
1.  Pre-requisite: Three years instructional, workshop and/or course teaching experience in each leadership designation you would like to be a LM and SAE*;

2.  SAE and LM workshop per leadership designation (approx. four hours, online or in-class, fee)*;

3.  Pass (80%+) SAE and LM Evaluation by a Certified SA Evaluator (in person, video or Skype, fee)*;

4.  Maintain current CPR-A minimum and Emergency or Standard First Aid Certifications;

5.  Maintain required annual liability insurance;

6.  Submit to CFES: Application Form; all document copies steps 1-4; signed SAE & LM Code of Honour; CFES Program Evaluation;  SAE and LM Certification/Membership fee;

7.  Receive SAE and LM Certification (electronic).    
* CFES recognizes BCRPA; AFLCA; SPRA; MFC; OFC; FNB; NSFA; IFC; YMCA and CALA equivalency.

CFES National Skills Assessment Evaluator (SAE) & Leadership Mentor (LM) Re-Certification Requirements

Candidate is to successfully complete (80%+) on the following program steps or present an equivalent*:
1. Evaluate a minimum of two candidates per year in leadership designation or combination, submit completed forms and mentor report. Retain a good to excellent review on each SA & LM Evaluation;

2. Maintain CPR; First Aid and required annual liability insurance;

3. Submit to CFES: Application Form; all document copies steps 1 and 2; signed SAE & LM Code of Honour; CFES Program Evaluation and SAE & LM Re-Certification/Membership fee.

4. Receive SAE and LM Re-Certification (electronic).

CFES National Master Skills Assessment Evaluator and Leadership Mentor (MSAE + MLM) Certification Requirements

The CFES Master SAE + MLM is available for Instructor, Personal Trainer and Educator. CFES MSAE + MLMs will be regionally based and CFES qualified to select and certify CFES Skills Assessment Evaluators and Leadership Mentors to meet the demand for evaluators in their region. Apply be interviewed and selected by CFES Certification Director to manage a CFES regional zone.

Candidates is to successfully complete (80%+) on the following program steps or present an equivalent*:

1. Pre-requisite: Five years instructional, supervisory workshop and educator (teacher or course instructor) experience in each leadership designation you would like to be a MSAE + MLM*;

2. Pass MSAE + MLM workshop per leadership designation (approx. four hours, online or in-class, fee)*;

3. Pass MSAE + MLM Evaluation by a Certified SA Evaluator (in person, video or Skype, fee)*;

4. Maintain current CPR-A minimum and Emergency or Standard First Aid Certifications;

5. Maintain required annual liability insurance;

6. Submit to CFES: Application Form; all document copies steps 1-5; signed MSAE + MLM Code of Honour; CFES Program Evaluation;  MSAE + MLM Certification/Membership fee;

7. Receive MSAE + MLM Certification (electronic).

2. Evaluate a minimum of two SAE + LM candidates per year (ideally in two different leadership designations);

3. Retain good to excellent reviews on SAE + LM Certification workshops and evaluations;

4. Maintain CPR; First Aid and required annual liability insurance;

5. Submit to CFES: Application Form; all document copies steps 1-4; Signed MSAE + MLM Code of Honour; CFES Program Evaluation and MSAE + MLM Re-Certification/Membership fee.

6. Receive MSAE + MLM Re-Certification (electronic).
